Grupa Bauer Media takes over Rankomat.pl

Grupa Bauer Media has bought 100% of shares in Rankomat.pl S.A. – the owner of the biggest insurance comparison service in Poland. The company, chaired by Michał Laskowski, will be a part of Grupa Interia.pl, managed by Artur Potocki.
“Buying Rankomat.pl is another step in realizing the strategy of developing Interia and the whole of Grupa Bauer Media. Obtaining the leader on such a promising market is a fundamental step in our building of the best insurance and financial product range on the Polish market” – Artur Potocki, the chairman of Grupa Interia.pl, says.
“Joining Grupa Bauer and having the opportunity to cooperate and develop in Interia opens up entirely new possibilities for Rankomat.pl to reach an even bigger group of consumers and further expand the product range, and improve the quality of services” – Michał Laskowski, chairman of the management board of Rankomat.pl S.A., says.

Rankomat.pl is an independent insurance comparison service which specializes in comparing car insurance offers. The website makes it possible to check the offers of most of the insurers operating on the Polish market and purchase the selected insurance option. The company was set up in 2008 by Jacek Olechowski together with a group of private investors. In 2010 the fund managed by 3TS Capital Partners invested in the company. Collaboration with this fund allowed Rankomat.pl to become the leader in its market.
Grupa Interia.pl is the main player on the internet market in Poland, being a part of Grupa Bauer Media. The group’s flagship product is the horizontal portal Interia.pl. and the rest of the firm’s portfolio is made up of websites dedicated to particular topics, and the Semahead agency. Grupa Interia.pl is also one of the biggest firms on the Polish online advertising market, and operating within it are the advertising networks AdStyle, TechnoAd and AdRetail.
3TS Capital Partners is a private equity and venture capital fund operating in CEE. 3TS invests in companies with large potential for growth in the technology, internet and media segment.
